The Vermont Food Bank has 50% less food than it did one year ago and across the state local food pantries are struggling to fill their shelves; New Hampshire is getting more than $1 million from a drug maker as its share of a $130 million national Medicaid settlement over misbranding allegations. Police in Maine are still investigating an incident in which sand was thrown into the face of a Somali-born runner at a New England cross-country track meet earlier this month.
