Volunteers in Vermont and New Hampshire are being sought to help clean up the Connecticut River.

Last year, just over 3,000 volunteers hauled in nearly 100 tons of trash from the four-state Connecticut River watershed. They pulled out barbecue grills, bicycles, and hundreds of tires and rims.

Christine Luis-Schultz is coordinator of the Source to the Sea Watershed Cleanup. She says organizers are looking for service groups such as the Rotary and Lions clubs, scout, school and church groups.

The 13th annual cleanup is being held on October 3rd.
