U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will visit Vermont this weekend to meet with dairy farmers.
Vilsack will be meeting with farmers Saturday morning at 10 at the Burlington Hilton in an event chaired by Senator Bernie Sanders. That event is open to the public.
Vilsack will also be speaking at the Northeast Organic Farmers Association conference, and he’ll also meet with the St. Albans Cooperative Creamery and Senator Patrick Leahy.
The secretary is meeting with farmers comes as they’re struggling with low milk prices and a down economy.
