Vermonters Nominated For Prestigious Food Awards

The culinary world’s equivalent of the Oscars may well be the James Beard Awards.  The awards recognize the best chefs, food writers, and restaurants in America.  This year’s prizes will be announced over the weekend and several Vermonters are on the shortlist for awards. 

Deborah Schapiro has been following the Vermont food scene for the past few years as publisher of the magazine Edible Green Mountains, which is now on hiatus.  She spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about the awards and the nominees.
