Vermonters Head To Inauguration

Crowds at today’s presidential inauguration are expected to be smaller than last time around when an estimated 1.8 million people turned out to see the president sworn in for his historic first term.

But 800,000 people are still expected today in the nation’s capitol for the second inauguration of President Barack Obama. One Vermont family is planning to be there in person, Becky Bowan of Montpelier is making the trip down with her husband and two teenage children. Bowan speaks with VPR’s Mitch Wertlieb.
