Vermonters have a chance today to see a film screening next month in the Best Documentary competition at the Sundance Film Festival. It’s called "Fields of Fuel."

Josh Tickell directed "Fields of Fuel." But he’s also getting help from a Vermonter with her own background in film. Rebecca Harrell is a Hinesburg native who got an early start in films at the age of 8. She’s since appeared in a number of movies, mostly in the horror genre.

But her commitment to this documentary and to Josh Tickell is now the passion in her life.

Josh Tickell says the film was inspired by growing up in Louisiana — near a 100-mile stretch of land dotted by so many petro-chemical refineries it became known as "cancer alley."

There will be two screenings of "Fields of Fuel" today at Merrill’s Roxy in Burlington at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
