More Vermonters will get help staying warm this winter thanks to almost $4 million in new federal assistance.

The program will help thousands of low-income Vermonters heat their homes for the rest of the winter.

Some of the money was made available thanks to legislation sponsored by Vermont’s congressional delegation.

Vermont has already received over $25 million in aid this year. Last winter, over 26,000 homes in Vermont got federal heating assistance, a number that is on the rise.
