(Host) Vermonters with an Egyptian background say they’ve been glued to the media as events in their homeland continue to unfold.

Middlebury College history professor Febe Armanios is one of them.

Armanios says younger family members have been most sympathetic to protesters’ demands.

(Armanios) "But still I shouldn’t underplay that there is a worry about what’s to come, even as people are excited and jubilant or worried, there’s a mixture of emotions, there’s a very complex web of emotions that everyone I’m speaking with in Egypt is feeling right now."

(Host) Armanios says communication with Egypt has improved in recent days as Internet and telephone service has returned to normal.
