Vermont Yankee officials say they’ll begin testing two of five pipes that could be the sources of tritium found in monitoring wells.

In a weekly update to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, plant representatives said the pipes have been identified as potential sources.

NRC spokesman Neil Sheehan tells the Brattleboro Reformer that the testing will use a device equipped with inflatable bladders that are filled with air to check for pressure decreases that would indicate leakage.
