Unemployment levels remain steady in Vermont.

Labor Commissioner Patricia Moulton Powden says the September rate was 3.7%, the same as it was in August.

She says there was job growth in nearly every sector of the economy that’s tracked by her department, although manufacturing did drop in September.

Vermont’s unemployment rate remained lower than the national rate, which stood at 4.6% last month.

Regionally, the lowest unemployment in Vermont was two percent in Hartford and the highest was four percent in Newport.
