Unemployment in Vermont stood at 4.1% last month, unchanged from May. The Department of Employment and Training says 14,600 people were without a job in June.

There was some boost in jobs from seasonal summer activities, but job growth was generally lackluster. Manufacturing continued to lose jobs last month, but strength in education and health services and in the tourist industry made up for that. There also was less growth in construction than had been expected.

The region of the state with the lowest unemployment was Hartford at 1.8%. The highest was Springfield at 6.2%.
