Vermont to receive $16 million for homeland security

Vermont police, medical and emergency crews will be getting at least $16 million as part of the first-ever Homeland Security funding bill. Since last year, Vermont has received more than $20 million. The funds have been used to train emergency personnel to prepare for possible terrorist attacks, purchase specialized equipment and pay for overtime workers.
