The secretary of state’s office will conduct a random audit of last month’s election results in four Vermont towns.

The results of the races for governor and lieutenant governor from Barnet, Brattleboro, Rockingham and Stowe will be hand-counted today in Montpelier.

The audits will test the accuracy of electronic vote tabulators, which were used at 103 polling station’s this year.

Three towns were randomly selected. Secretary of State Deb Markowitz says Stowe was asked to participate after it had problems with its machines.
