The return of a youth baseball team from a Cuba trip is being delayed because of Tropical Storm Fay, which made landfall in Florida today.

The Twin State Peregrines, a team of 11-12 year-olds from Vermont and New Hampshire, will spend at least another day in Havana to wait out the storm.

ABC Charters Inc. spokesman Alex Vicente says the team’s flight from Havana to Miami was canceled yesterday. Vicente says plans are to get the team home – via Miami and Boston – today, but it depends on the weather.

The team, which has been in Cuba for 10 days, won a game Friday but lost to a Havana team Saturday, 7-4. A third game was canceled because of rain.
