A Northeastern University student dies on a school-sponsored ski trip.

University officials say 18-year-old Adrienne Devino died Saturday night after her snow tube went off course and crashed into a tree at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire.

The Addison, Vermont native was taken to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, NH where she was pronounced dead of internal injuries.

Devino was one of about 50 students who went on the annual trip sponsored by the Resident Student Association.

Her family says the hospital told them that snow that had melted during the day had turned to ice by the time the communications major took to the slopes at about 8 pm.
