Vermont Law School has chosen a partner in a Chicago law firm as its new president and dean. Fifty-eight-year-old Geoffrey Shields will assume the position August 1, replacing President L. Kinvin Wroth. Shields is a partner in the Chicago firm Gardner Carton and Douglas. He serves on the board of the Brattleboro Retreat, and he’s a former board member of Bennington College. Wroth began his first term as dean in 1996 and received the additional title of president last year. He will remain on the faculty of the law school.
