Vermont Law Dean Announces Retirement

(Host) The president of Vermont Law School has announced he’ll be retiring next summer.

Jeff Shields has spent four decades as a practicing attorney and legal educator. Shields became the South Royalton school’s seventh dean in 2004.

He announced his retirement to a gathering of faculty and staff Friday morning. Shields told the group that he has successfully recovered from a recent bout with cancer, and is looking forward to spending more time with his family, and pursuing other projects.

Shield’s retirement will be effective August 1st, 2012.
