Vermont Hospital Budget Hearings Set

Vermont state officials will be looking this week to get the public’s views on the budgets of their local hospitals.

Video links are available around the state for people to testify at the hearings, which are scheduled Thursday from 1:30 to 5 p.m.

The hearings are being run by the state commissioner of Banking, Insurance, Securities & Health Care Administration, Steve Kimbell, and his deputy, Mike Davis.

Kimbell says Vermont is breaking new ground in its work with hospitals on spending and cost containment, but he says officials want to hear from the people in the hospitals’ communities, because they’ll be most directly affected by any changes.
