After taking last year off, the expo returns to the Tunbridge Fairgrounds this weekend.  It’s an opportunity for local historical societies to tout their town’s contributions to life in Vermont.

This year features everything from Barre’s celebration of the traditional Italian picnic, complete with homemade wine, to the Chester Historical Society’s presentation on Revolutionary war veteran Dr. Nathan Smith who helped found four prestigious medical schools.

And East Middlebury will celebrate the history of the toy piano. For decades most of the toy pianos sold in this country were made in Vermont.
