Vermont Health Department urging flu vaccine

The state is urging Vermonters to get their flu shots this fall.

Health Commissioner Wendy Davis says vaccine is readily available this year at public clinics and health care providers.

And for the first time this year some health care providers will have a nasal spray form of the vaccine, available for healthy people between ages 2 and 49.

In addition to getting vaccinated, the incidence can be reduced by the simple steps of covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing; people should wash their hands frequently and people who are sick should stay home from school or work.
