More Vermont National Guard members are headed overseas as part of the U.S. war on terrorism. Fifteen members of the 158th Security Forces Squadron left early Tuesday morning from the Burlington International Airport.

The soldiers’ mission will be to protect U.S. air bases. The guard can’t say where they troops are going. But earlier rotations of Vermonters have served in Pakistan, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This is the fourth group of Vermonters to head overseas. Other members of the Vermont guard are on active duty in the Balkans.
