Gas prices in Vermont are continuing to drop and are nearing the $3 a gallon threshold.
On Monday the average price for gas in Vermont was $3.05, down nearly 60 cents in the last month.
Nationally, gas prices have dropped to $2.93 a gallon.
The organization AAA says a year ago the Vermont average price for gas was $2.828.
Joseph Choquette of the Vermont Petroleum Association says the price decline is being driven by the national economy and competition.
