The Vermont Expos minor-league baseball team has signed a new two-year deal to remain affiliated with the Montreal Expos major league franchise. The Vermont Expos deal with the major league club is good for two years, guaranteeing a minor league team in Vermont’s largest city through 2006.
The Vermont Expos said the contract guarantees the Burlington team will be the New York-Penn League affiliate for the major league Expos regardless of whether the major league team moves to another city. There have been indications that the Montreal team will relocate to Washington or northern Virginia for the 2005 season.
