Vermont business owners have until April 23 to apply for disaster loans from July flooding

The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding Vermont businesses that they have until April 23 to apply for loans to help recover from flooding last July.

Small businesses are eligible if they were hurt by the flooding July 9-11 and are from the counties of Addison, Caledonia, Chittenden, Lamoille, Orange and Washington.

Loans are available up to $1.5 million. They money can be used to pay fixed debt, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that could have been paid if the disaster had not happened.

The loans can last up to 30 years and the interest rate is 4 percent.
