(Host) The anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington was observed this morning at the Vermont Air National Guard base in South Burlington.

Doug Fick is Wing Commander with the 158th Fighter Wing.

(Fick) "9/11 changed our lives… in a fundamental and profound way. Much of what we had thought of the world was forever altered in those few minutes during that day…"

(Host) The brief ceremony was highlighted by a moment of silence, broken by F 16’s flying overhead.

(Fick) "We can never forget what happened on 9/11 – it’s part of what we are now.  And we must remain vigilant to prevent it again. To do everything we can to prevent such a tragedy from ever occurring again".
