The Vermont Economic Development Authority has approved $657,500 to back loans from companies seeking to expand. The financing package will help leverage $1.75 million in loans.

Among the projects is one that will help Blue Spruce Farms in Bridport generate its own electricity and sell surplus locally. SBE, a manufacturer in Barre, will expand into new markets for the electronic capacitors it makes. And Tom and Sally’s Handmade Chocolates in Brattleboro was helped in obtaining working capital for two major orders it has obtained.
