Faculty members at the University of Vermont are planning a news conference this week to underscore their concern about shrinking funding for academic pursuits.

A group called United Academics that represents faculty members at UVM has scheduled the conference for noon tomorrow.

They plan to lament a decline in the number of instructional faculty members and an increase in the number of large classes.

They want the college’s administration to fund the faculty jobs needed to provide what they call a quality undergraduate experience.
