Two Vermont baseball players hoping to make the big leagues will get their chance today.
The Boston Red Sox are giving private tryouts to Brandon Fay, of South Burlington, and Jake Ainsworth, of Fairfax, in Lowell, Mass.
Fay’s a pitcher and third baseman. Ainsworth, a catcher, just finished his sophomore year at Lyndon State College and is getting a second look from the Boston Red Sox, who gave him a tryout three summers ago.
