The Vermont State Police is investigating a pair of retail break-ins in Tunbridge.

Shortly after 1:00 this morning Troopers responded to a call that the back door of the North Tunbridge General Store had been kicked in. Police discovered the store’s cash drawer had been emptied.

This comes after a similar incident in the early morning hours on Tuesday. In that case a picture window was smashed out at the Tunbridge Village Store. Police say several items were stolen.

Evidence found at the scene of the first burglary has been sent to the Vermont Forensics Laboratory for examination.
