One of the most popular hiking trails in New Hampshire’s White Mountains is reopening after being closed for reconstruction.

The Appalachian Mountain Club has spent just under four weeks restoring the Tuckerman Ravine Trail to its original location, building rock steps and fixing problems caused by erosion. The work had to be done during the height of the summer hiking season because the weather other times of hear can be harsh, but officials say the crew worked efficiently and were able to finish about a week ahead of schedule.

The trail reopens on Saturday.
