They’re cleaning up in Brattleboro today after thunderstorms knocked down trees and power lines.

Brattleboro Public Works Director Steve Barrett says trees were felled in 10 locations yesterday during the storms, which unleashed a torrent of rain that overwhelmed storm drains and flooded Canal Street briefly.

Central Vermont Public Service spokeswoman Christine Rivers says power was knocked out to about 1,300 customers even though the storm only lasted about 10 minutes.
