Trapp Family Lodge plans expansion

The Trapp Family Lodge is seeking state permission to build an $18 million condo development on its land in Stowe. The resort plans to build 40 condominium-style villas on 65 acres located above its lodge in the mountains. Construction is scheduled to begin in the fall, and is expected to take three to five years to complete.

The resort has received approval from the Stowe Zoning Board of Adjustment. The project is scheduled to go before the town’s planning commission next week. The project needs a state Act 250 land use permit and the Agency of Natural Resources is reviewing the impact of the project on nearby wetlands.
