Vermont State Police say a routine traffic stop last night turned into a marijuana arrest. Police stopped 35-year-old Timothy McGowan on Route 100 in Hyde Park, saying he was speeding.

When the officer went to talk to him, he said he saw marijuana plants growing in buckets inside the car. McGowan was arrested on a felony charge of cultivation and possession of marijuana.
