The Ticonderoga Ferry remains closed this morning due to ice forming on southern Lake Champlain.

The ferry shut down service yesterday afternoon. The company says they worked through the night to get the ferry running again, and they hope to re-open soon.

The ferry continued operating much later in the season to help some of the 3,400 commuters effect by the closure of the Crown Point Bridge in October.

Transportation officials say they will provide buses from park and rides in New York to various employers in Vermont.

Meanwhile, transportation planners have set Wednesday as a tentative day for the implosion of the Crown Point Bridge. Agency of Transportation spokesman John Zicconi told the Burlington Free Press that the date for the demolition may change.

Zicconi is also discouraging people from attending the implosion, saying there will be no ceremony, no parking and no bathroom facilities.
