(Host) Just as work crews were wrapping up restoration efforts from last night’s severe thunderstorms, round two came through this afternoon.

At this hour, Central Vermont Public Service says storms have knocked out power to 12,000 customers. Windham County took the hardest hit, but damage was also spread through Windsor, Orange, Bennington and Rutland counties.

CVPS says that at its peak last night about 11,000 customers were without power after the storms knocked down power lines in different parts of the states.

Officials are warning residents to stay away from downed wires, and to call police if lines are blocking roadways.
