A high school chemistry and physics teacher at Thetford Academy is one of 50 educators from around the country to have been selected for a special week-long program on science, technology, engineering and math education.

Marc Chabot spent a week earlier this month in Silver Spring, Maryland., at a program sponsored by the technology firm Siemens.

The program focused on real-world applications of science in the classroom.

Chabot says he’s grateful to have been given the chance to participate, because it’s important for teachers of technology to stay up to date with changes in technology.

He will collaborate with other teachers around the country in efforts to solve local, technology-related problems.
