The Porter Music Box Company in Randolph has been making music boxes for thirty years. You can wod these boxes up, and they play traditional tunes like Let Me Call you Sweetheart but they don’t look like any music box you might have had as a kid. These music boxes are enormous wooden cabinets. They can stand several feet tall, and cost upwards of $20,000.
Former clock repairman Dwight Porter started the company. We asked him and manager Jim Sault to lead us through the making of a music box.
