David Wolk has spent a career in education, most of it in Rutland County, where he was born and raised.

He was a teacher and then principal of Barstow Memorial School in Chittenden, principal of Rutland High School, superintendent of schools in Rutland City, and Commissioner of Education.

For the past 12 years, he’s been president of Castleton State College. And his tenure there has been marked by expansion. A doubling of the student population. New buildings. And the arrival of a varsity football team, to great fanfare, in 2009.

Wolk spoke with Vermont Edition about his vision for Castleton State.
