Teacher released from hospital, faces federal charge

A Bradford teacher charged with sex crimes against two students has been released from the hospital following a suicide attempt and now faces federal, as well as state, charges.

Fifty-one-year-old Richard Foster, a sixth-grade teacher at Bradford Elementary School, was arrested by FBI agents yesterday following his release from the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

Police say he was taken there Sunday after attempting suicide.

Foster faces several state felony charges of aggravated sexual assault on a child, lewd and lascivious conduct with a child, possession of child pornorgraphy and use of a child in a sexual performance.

Now he’s been hit with a federal criminal complaint charging him with production of child pornography.
