The state Supreme Court has rejected a challenge to Act 60, Vermont’s school financing law. The court on Friday dismissed an attempt by the town of Killington to throw out a key part of the law.
The town challenged the way the state tries to ensure the statewide property tax is applied equally from town to town. A Superior Court sided with Killington last year, but the Supreme Court sided with the state. The justices said the system is not perfect, but meets the standards required.
