Sunderland Wants FEMA To Rework Flood Map

Town officials in Sunderland are reaching out to the Federal Emergency Management Agency on behalf of concerned property owners who say the agency’s new flood plain map is insufficient.

Sunderland is one of many Vermont cities and towns that were hit hard by Tropical Storm Irene.

The town’s Select Board is suggesting changes to FEMA’s new map, and a public hearing has been scheduled for next month.
