Teachers in the Chittenden East Supervisory Union will hold a strike vote this week if they don’t reach a settlement with the school board.

The 300 teachers have not had a contract since last July.

The teachers and the administration hope to negotiate an agreement that would avert a strike.

The main conflict seems to be over health care costs.

The district is made up three-thousand students in Richmond, Huntington, Jericho, Bolton and Underhill.

Teachers say they plan to hold a strike vote Wednesday night if they don’t agree to a settlement.
