Stowe electric utility may be sold

Town officials in Stowe are looking at a plan to sell the town’s 107-year-old electric department. The select board and the electric department’s three commissioners are trying to find out how much the utility is worth. Stowe Electric has 3,400 customers and owns more than 100 miles of cable and seven substations.
