A Vermont Public Safety Department employee is facing charges she used a government credit card to buy $6,900 worth of personal items.

State police say 50-year-old Sigrun Grabowski of Montpelier bought things with the credit card between July 2007 and August 2008.

Grabowski is an information analyst. She has been placed on administrative leave.

She is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 16.
