State Senator Slightly Hurt In Crash With Moose

A Vermont State senator is recovering from minor injuries suffered when the car he was riding in hit a moose.

The Vermont State Police says that 83-year-old Bill Doyle of Montpelier was a passenger in a car that hit a moose on state Route 12 near the Elmore-Worcester town line on Monday night.

Police say Doyle and the driver of the vehicle, Linda Normandeau of Montpelier, suffered non life threatening injuries.

Police say Normandeau was headed south during a heavy rain when her vehicle hit a moose that was standing in the road.
