State prepares computers for daylight saving time

Vermont government and businesses are preparing computer systems for this weekend’s change to daylight saving time.

The clocks will be pushed one hour ahead three weeks earlier this year.
Congress mandated the change two years ago as an energy-saving measure.

Daylight saving time now also will end on the first Sunday in November, one week later than last year.

Administration Michael Smith says all state government departments have taken steps to ensure that computer systems comply with the change.
