State Police Trooper To Lead Safety Program

A Vermont State Police lieutenant is going to be the new acting chief of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program.

Lt. John Flannigan is currently the leader of the state police’s traffic safety unit.

Flannigan’s assignment was announced Monday by Public Safety Commissioner Keith Flynn.

In his role as head of the traffic safety unit, Flannigan works as a liaison with local, county, state, and national traffic safety programs, and cooperated with the safety program, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Agency of Transportation.
