State GOP calls for Dean to release all records

Vermont Republicans are calling on former Governor Howard Dean to release his gubernatorial records.

The Democratic presidential candidate negotiated a deal with the state archives before he left office to seal most of his records for ten years. That keeps them sealed longer than most former governors require. Dean said shortly before he left office that his own political considerations prompted him to keep the records out of public view longer.

Republican Party Chairman Jim Barnett says Dean should open everything to public scrutiny. Barnett says if he doesn’t, it means he’s trying to hide something.
