The Vermont Environmental Board announced today it has reached a settlement with the developer of Maple Tree Place at Williston’s Taft Corners. The commercial area won’t be losing its land-use permit, but developer Starwood Ceruzzi will be changing one of the buildings.

The agreement allows the developer to modify the existing Best Buy building to comply with its original Act 250 land-use permit. The board argued the outside of the store’s building was too massive. In the settlement, Starwood Ceruzzi agreed to modify the building’s fa ade and change some of the landscaping. Starwood Ceruzzi also agreed to change the store’s sign so that they are either backlit or externally illuminated. (AP)
