(Host) Barre City and state officials are meeting with the city’s residents tonight to answer questions about cleanup from last week’s flooding disaster.

Mayor Tom Lauzon says he and other officials will be on hand for the meeting at 6:00 p.m. at the Barre Auditorium.

Lauzon says the top priority is to make sure everyone affected by the flooding has immediate needs met, including food, clothing and shelter.

Downtown businesses are continuing to clean up from flooding that struck one week ago.

Today, representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency spent the day in the city to assess flood damage.

Meanwhile, a fund has been set up for contributions to assist downtown retailers in Montpelier, who are also recovering from flood damages.

There will be a kickoff event Friday during the noon hour in front of City Hall.
